Configuration Files

Description - ASCII files

Purpose - Customize the Gcom-proprietary, application-level programs responsible for building, configuring, and managing the Gcom® STREAMS environment.

Recommended Usage - Do not use an ASCII text editor and/or the Gcom command line interface to directly manipulate configuration files.

Use instead the Gcom Protocol Appliance browser-based interface and keyboard/monitor interface to set parameters while performing Gcom installation, setup, and configuration activities. The interfaces translate your settings into the configuration files that Gcom_pcd, Gcom_ssd, Gcom_config, and Gcom_monitor read upon startup.
