Gcom_monitor

Description - A Gcom-proprietary, stand-alone, application-level program

Purpose

  • Build the Gcom® STREAMS environment.
  • Monitor legacy protocol stack drivers for event notifications and log the events.

Program Start - Use the Gcom Protocol Appliance browser-based interface. Recommended order for starting Gcom_monitor, Gcom_config, Gcom_ssd, and, if necessary, Gcom_pcd: Assign SSD, Assign Stack, Assign Application (for Gcom_pcd), Start all Ports.

Gcom_monitor configuration file - When started, Gcom_monitor reads a configuration containing parameters that tell it how to build the Gcom STREAMS environment.

Gcom_monitor log file - Gcom_monitor logs initialization events for each legacy protocol stack driver to help you diagnose installation, setup, and configuration problems.
